January is School Board Appreciation Month! This month, we celebrate the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to support our students, schools, and community. School board members play a vital role in striving for educational excellence, developing policies that guide our district’s success, and advocating for the needs and values of our community
Last month, we shared the news that the Yakima School District Board of Directors has been named a 2025 Board of Distinction by the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA). This honor has been awarded to our board four times since 2021, reflecting a sustained commitment to strong governance and student-centered leadership.
