Eisenhower Dance Team Competes at State Championship
The Eisenhower dance team earned their way to the Washington State Dance and Drill Championships held in Yakima on March 25th. Teams that qualify must participate during the regular competition season which starts in November and goes until the end of February, and receive a score of 195 or better in order to compete at the WIAA District qualifying event. The District events occur in early March and teams must receive a minimum qualifying score of 213 to receive an invitation to compete at the State Championship. Eisenhower qualified in the Pom category.
A Pom routine is designed to emphasize the visual impact of poms. The focus on poms is primary in the choreography. Teams are scored on individual technique, team execution, content and overall effect by a panel of three officials at each event. Across the year, teams compete for trophy's and scores that will earn them a place a State. CONGRATULATIONS on your hard work and performance, Eisenhower!
