  • Whitney Families -
In preparation for the 2020-21 school year we want to share some resources with you.  Please see the attached document for more information and why we would like to suggest opening a separate Gmail account for school resources only.  This would be your family account and separate from your student's school gmail.  Your child's teacher can add you to google classroom where you will see all of your student's assignments.
This link is access to a Parent Portal with video tutorials to help you and your child access various platforms for learning that we will be using this year at Whitney.  Please continue to watch our Whitney website for updates.  Thank you for being a partner with us in your student's education!

  • Music Resources from Mr. Beam - Updated May 14

    View music resources here:

(Use your student account to access files)

The link above contains a folder for grades K-2 and another folder for grades 3-5.

    Grades K-2:

A selection of kids songs to sing along to.

    Grades 3-5:

Four recorder lesssons. Each lesson is in its own folder.

Instructions- Open the music book (PDF file) and find the song you want to play/learn. Print out the page or download a copy of it to play along with. Then minimize the PDF page ( _ ) and open the mp3 file for the song. Start the mp3 and start counting when the music starts as that is your introduction. While you are counting, open the music book back up ( _ ) and play along.

Good Luck! And above all, have fun while you learn.

P.S. You could print out select pages of the 4 books! Then you would only need to open the MP3's. That would even be easier than opening and closing the books! ;-)>

Our primary focus is on the health and safety for all students, families, and staff.  In keeping with this focus, YSD will proceed with the following:

    • Library materials will remain at home until further notice (with the exception of high school seniors).
    • We will not ask students or families to return library materials until it is safe for us to return to school in the fall.  No late return notices will be sent home at this time.
    • Incoming 6th and 9th grade students will return their library materials to their new building when it is safe for all of us to return to school.
    • Student & family communication regarding return of library materials in the fall will be posted on web site.
