Child Find Services

The Yakima School District is committed to ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed. The District conducts Child Find activities to locate, evaluate, and identify students residing within district boundaries who may benefit from special education or related services, while providing parents and guardians with information about their child's development and the District's special education resources.

Our Child Find team is also able to connect families with resources, including preschool options, behavior supports, and a variety of early learning programs. Parents or guardians who have concerns about their child’s health, hearing, intellectual functioning, language, learning, movement, serious behavioral needs, speech, or vision can contact the District’s Section 504 Coordinator, Shawn Orminski, at (509) 573-7263, or orminski.shawn@ysd7.org.
