Best Practices at Yakima School District

We have established best practices to ensure our schools are welcoming and supportive spaces for all students. Examples include:

  • Protecting Privacy: Yakima School District does not ask for or share immigration status information.
  • Language Access Services: We provide translation and interpretation services to ensure families can fully engage with their children’s education.
  • Counseling and Social-Emotional Support: Our schools offer resources to help students feel safe and supported, including connections to community services.
  • Safe School Environments: All staff receive training on creating safe, respectful, and inclusive school environments for every student.

  • Migrant Education Program:
    Our Migrant Education Program provides students and families with:
