JJ Watt Foundation Donates to Middle School Volleyball
  • Middle

Yakima School District’s four middle schools receive new volleyball uniforms through JJ Watt Foundation.

The Yakima School District is pleased to announce a generous donation of over $11,000 from the JJ Watt Foundation, which provided new volleyball uniforms for our student-athletes at Wilson, Franklin, Washington, and Lewis & Clark middle schools. This meaningful gift enables our young athletes to represent their schools and the Yakima School District with pride as they compete throughout the season.

Our middle school volleyball players have already taken to the courts in their new uniforms and are thrilled to continue wearing them as they develop their skills and team spirit throughout the year. The impact of this donation is visible not only in the quality of the uniforms but in the confidence and enthusiasm of the student-athletes wearing them.

The JJ Watt Foundation provides grant funding toward extracurricular and athletic activities that give children opportunities to develop essential character traits, including accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance. These programs create safe and supervised environments where students can grow alongside their peers, building skills that extend far beyond the volleyball court and into all areas of their lives.

The Yakima School District extends its heartfelt gratitude to the JJ Watt Foundation for its incredible generosity to our students. This investment in middle school athletics demonstrates a true partnership in supporting the growth and development of young people in the Yakima Valley community.

This story aligns with Goal 2 of our Strategic Plan: all students will develop habits and behaviors that elevate student voice, resilience, and personal ownership in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. To learn more about our strategic plan, visit ysd7.org/strategicplan.
