Ike’s NHS Surpasses 1,000 Units in Recent Blood Drives

On July 31, Eisenhower High School’s National Honor Society (NHS) hosted its 22nd blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross, marking a major milestone for the school community.

With 22 units collected during this latest event, IKE officially surpassed 1,000 total units of blood donated since the school began hosting drives. Each unit can help save one life or more, meaning Eisenhower students, staff, and supporters have provided lifesaving resources to a significant number of people in need.

The 1,000th unit was donated by Mr. Quesnell, pictured in the center of the photo from the event. NHS students helped organize and run the drive, supporting donors and making the event a success from start to finish.

The National Honor Society is proud to lead this important effort and is grateful to everyone who has donated over the years. Blood donations are a critical need in every community, and IKE is committed to doing its part.

Want to support these efforts in the future? Mark your calendar for the next blood drive: Thursday, September 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Eisenhower High School Auditorium. Sign-up information will be available soon.

This story aligns with Goal 2 of our Strategic Plan: all students will develop habits and behaviors that elevate student voice, resilience, and personal ownership in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. To learn more about our strategic plan, visit ysd7.org/strategicplan.
