Over 350 students, families, and staff gathered to celebrate migrant mothers at YSD's annual Migrant Mother's Day event.
On May 7, Yakima School District's Migrant Education Program (MEP) hosted a vibrant annual Mother's Day Celebration at Davis High School. The event welcomed more than 350 students, families, and staff members for an evening dedicated to honoring the invaluable role of mothers and caregivers in our migrant community.
Families enjoyed a delicious dinner and engaging children’s activities in a warm atmosphere, honoring the incredible mothers and caregivers who support our students every day. The program also included an opportunity to learn more about the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), with new members invited to join and lend their voices to support migrant education efforts.
The success of this year's Mother's Day PAC Celebration highlights the importance of continuing to create opportunities for connection, recognition, and support for all families in our district.
