Migrant families celebrated cultural festivities and accessed resources at YSD’s Festive Family Posada
Migrant families came together just before winter break for a Festive Family Posada! Held at Eisenhower High School, migrant families were invited to engage in the season with an evening of culture, community, and celebration.
Attendees warmed up with a delicious bowl of pozole, a traditional Mexican dish. They also enjoyed the beauty of vibrant folkloric dance performances, a true celebration of culture.
While at the Posada, migrant families had the opportunity to connect with local services and organizations at a resource fair and get their annual flu or COVID vaccine, as well as free blood sugar and blood pressure screenings.
The fun didn’t end there - each child got to choose a free book to take home.
Thank you to all of our migrant families who joined in the festivities!
