Davis Musicians Perform at State Solo & Ensemble Contest

Davis musicians recently traveled to Ellensburg, Washington for the WIAA/WMEA Contest.

A.C. Davis High School Musicians Perform at State Solo & Ensemble Contest We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of A.C. Davis High School's band program following their performances at the WIAA/WMEA State Solo & Ensemble Contest, held at Central Washington University's campus.

Over two days, a talented group of Davis musicians traveled to Ellensburg, Washington to compete against regional winners from across Washington state and brought home results that reflect the hard work, dedication, and artistry that define the Davis band program.

The Davis Percussion Ensemble 1 delivered a standout performance in the Large Percussion Ensemble category, earning a Superior rating (the highest possible) and finishing 2nd place at the state level.

Congratulations to the Davis Percussion Ensemble 1 student-musicians: Matthew Alvarez, Citlaly Beltran-Gonzalez, Natalia Cacique Flores, Fernanda Coronel Villalobos, Alison Dorn, Kassandra Escobedo, Mariah Foss, Alexander Galvan, Jazlyn Lamas, Julio Mendoza, Lizzie Mills, Miguel Ramos Barrera, Moises Reyes, Abdiel Ruiz-Amezcua, Sheyla Valencia, and Karen Zepeda.

Another notable moment was junior Lizzie Mills, who performed a marimba solo in the Solo Mallets category, earning a Superior rating and finishing 2nd in the state. It is a remarkable achievement that speaks to her exceptional skill and commitment to her craft.

The Yakima School District congratulates every student who competed, as well as the Davis Band Directors Brian Beck and Sam Howard, who guide and inspire them every day. These results are a testament to what young musicians can accomplish when they are supported, challenged, and given the opportunity to shine on a statewide stage.
