Adams Elementary received a generous donation from United Way to support the cost of school supplies for students.

Adams Elementary School received a generous $750 donation from United Way of Central Washington to support the cost of school supplies for students. The check was presented in early September as part of a community partnership that benefits both organizations.

The donation came after Adams Elementary opened its doors to United Way over the summer, allowing them to host a Financial Resource Fair at the school in August. The fair provided important financial wellness resources to families across the Yakima Valley.

"We were honored to present a check to Adams Elementary to support school supplies for their students," said United Way representatives. "Even more, we are so grateful to them for opening their doors and allowing us to host our Financial Resource Fair in their space."

This partnership shows how local organizations can work together to create stronger communities. By sharing resources and supporting one another, Adams Elementary and United Way are helping kids and families throughout the Yakima Valley succeed.

Thank you to United Way of Central Washington for generously supporting Adams’ students!

This story aligns with Goal 2 of our Strategic Plan: all students will develop habits and behaviors that elevate student voice, resilience, and personal ownership in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. To learn more about our strategic plan, visit ysd7.org/strategicplan.
