Adams Elementary celebrated families with a joyful, inclusive first-ever Mother & Son Dance.

Adams Elementary kept the momentum going from its first Father & Daughter Dance in February by celebrating another milestone, a first-ever Mother & Son Dance.

Held on May 15, the event brought together students and the special women in their lives, with invitations extended beyond mothers to include grandmothers, aunts, stepmothers, and any female loved one or role model who holds a meaningful place in a student's life. That intentional inclusivity ensured every student had the opportunity to share the evening with someone who mattered most to them.

Like the Father & Daughter Dance before it, this event was a beautiful reflection of Adams Elementary's commitment to building a safe, caring, and welcoming school community. Families filled the room with joy, connection, and celebration, exactly the kind of evening that strengthens the bond between school and home.

We are proud of the Adams Elementary team and the families who made this special night possible, and we look forward to seeing what they celebrate next!

This story aligns with Goal 2 of our Strategic Plan: all students will develop habits and behaviors that elevate student voice, resilience, and personal ownership in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. To learn more about our strategic plan, visit ysd7.org/strategicplan.
