Executive Director of Communications and Engagement Biography

Kirsten Fitterer is dedicated to clear communication, inclusiveness, and community engagement. As Executive Director of Communications and Engagement, she works closely with the Superintendent to ensure students, families, and staff receive timely and transparent information. She oversees district-wide communications, ensuring consistent and open dialogue with the community, and has expanded language access services for multilingual families, strengthening family engagement programs. Her role requires close relationships with community organizations, media, and local leaders to advocate for district priorities. Kirsten holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Washington State University, a certification in Advanced Analytics and Measurement from the University of San Francisco, and is pursuing a Master’s degree from Eastern Washington University to further enhance her service to the district. Outside work, she enjoys traveling, interior design, and spending time with her spouse, blended family, two Goldendoodles, and their cat, Maggie.
