Deputy Superintendent Biography
Stacey grew up in a small rural town on the Olympic Peninsula. She graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor's in education and National Certification as an Athletic Trainer. Stacey served 12 years in the Army Reserve and worked as the Head Women's Athletic Trainer at Eastern Washington University and the US Olympic Women's Crew Team! Eventually, she returned to K-12 public education, teaching and serving as an athletic trainer in the Bellevue School District before moving back to Eastern Washington.
In 2000, Stacey joined the Yakima School District as Assistant Principal at Eisenhower High School. She later became the Principal, serving in that role for 11 years. Stacey received several accolades, including being named Washington State Principal of the Year and a National Principal Finalist in 2008, the John McAlister Crystal Apple Award, the PTA Golden Acorn Award, and recently the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Rotary International Foundation and the Non-Nurse Administrator of the Year from the School Nurse Organization Of Washington.
Under Stacey's leadership, a new Eisenhower High School was constructed and opened in 2014. Soon after, she transitioned to the district office serving in human resources, safety, and security. In July 2020, she compiled her vast experience to move into the role of Assistant Superintendent of Operations. A few years later, Stacey was appointed as the Deputy Superintendent in July 2023.
Outside work, Stacey and her partner Jennifer live on a two-acre property. Stacey enjoys large-scale gardening (especially on the John Deere tractor!) and raising their new pup, "Ari," with their border collie Koda. Stacey loves anything outdoors especially camping in the summer months with family and friends.
