Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Biography
Anthony Murrietta joined Yakima School District after serving over 17 years as Business Representative and President of Teamster Local Unions 174 & 763. He brings extensive experience in labor relations, contract negotiations, and public service, including his current role on Washington’s Select Committee on Pension Policy. In HR, Anthony manages 10 collective bargaining agreements and oversees compliance for the district’s 2,000+ employees. His efforts have led to significant cost savings, including reducing lawyer fees by over $1.2 million and decreasing absentee hours to reduce cost. Anthony also oversees Maintenance and Operations, ensuring the district’s infrastructure is maintained to provide safe, clean learning environments. Notable projects include the Davis Auditorium remodel and the Discovery Early Learning Center. In Transportation, he leverages his industry experience to ensure the safe transport of students. With a dedication to maintaining positive labor relations, Anthony believes YSD’s greatest assets are its employees, who provide outstanding service to students every day.
