Happy Summer Hoover Huskies!
I hope this message finds you doing well and staying safe. We are proud of the initiative and accountability our students and staff have demonstrated toward learning during this pandemic. As summer progresses, our Hoover community continues to support each other as we sail through these uncharted waters. From connecting families to food resources, first responders to childcare, and students to remote learning and support, our Hoover Family continues to positively impact student learning. HOOVER ROCKS!
To our students, we ask that you please continue reading at least 30 minutes every day and visit the YSD website for links to more learning.
We thank all of our students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members for practicing patience as we continue with the planning of reopening our schools.
District Re-Opening Updates
The Yakima School District has created a website with information about reopening our schools. To view this information, please visit www.ysd7.org/reopen. On that website, you can also register to receive updates on reopening decisions via email and/or text. Re-opening of YSD schools is a TEAM EFFORT! Mask Up to Open Up. Let’s all do our part to stop the spread and re-open our schools.
New phone number or address?
Be sure we have your correct email address, phone number, and mailing address this summer. We'll be sharing important back-to-school updates throughout the summer and don't want you to miss out on important information. If your contact information changes, please email us ASAP.
Meal distribution sites (Wednesdays 10 am-11 am): The summer meal program is from July 1- Aug 5, 2020. The distribution sites are Barge-Lincoln, McClure, Ridgeview, and Washington. On July 22, there will be a special “farm to families” produce box distributed from Franklin Middle School. Pick up your regular 10 meals at your preferred site, then head over to Franklin for a free produce box! For additional information, please visit: yakimaschools.org/SummerMeals
We truly miss everyone! Please continue to practice safety and make it a restful summer with family.

On Monday, August 3, 2020, the Yakima School Board approved YSD's proposed Reopening Plan for OSPI. This is NOT an alert of how school will start in the fall (i.e. distance learning) but we expect that info from the health dept in 1-2 days. To review our plan, go online to www.YSD7.org/reopeningplan
